Thank you to everyone for your incredible support of my first published performance video. It is my goal to give you input with regard to my songs; their origins, the inspiration and scripture behind them. It is my prayer that by sharing these thoughts you will be encouraged in your walk and drawn closer to God.
Stand was written some years ago as an encouragement to those of us who constantly feel iike we need to be strong for the Lord. Life is hard. You will often hear me say that I am the perfect example of weakness. Yet, as Christians we tend to think that to honor God we must give the illusion of "perfection". Crippling perfectionism has been one of my idiosyncracies that I thought for most of my life I needed to hide in order to honor God. The truth is that we are told that we can be strong IN the Lord. In fact, God tells us "My grace is sufficient for you, for MY power is perfected in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9
Though at times it seems we're tossed by every wave of heartache and injustice we face from day to day
Overwhelmed by fear and grief; disease and circumstance seek to steal the joy we have in knowing Christ and serving Him
Stand in His Power and His Might
We dare not try to stand on our own
Stand in His Power and HIs Might
for the Lord goes before us conquering the foe
We must realize the battle is not ours to fight alone.
We will stand; we WILL stand; we will STAND in His Power and His Might
As saints who've gone before us let us hold fast tour faith and keep our eyes fixed firmly on the Lord
If we can remember that we are fighting in a war already won we can face all things knowing through it all God's Will is done
Stand in His Power and His Might
We dare not try to stand on our own
Stand in His Power and HIs Might
for the Lord goes before us conquering the foe
We must realize the battle is not ours to fight alone.
We will stand; we WILL stand; we will STAND in His Power and His Might
No weapon formed against us will ever prosper
Pure in heart we stand before the Lord
From this moment on let us live our lives with courage
With God and God ALONE we will stand
Stand in His Power and His Might
We dare not try to stand on our own
Stand in His Power and HIs Might
for the Lord goes before us conquering the foe
We must realize the battle is not ours to fight alone.
We will stand; we WILL stand; we will STAND in His Power and His Might
What is it today that distracts you? What seeks to steal your joy of living Christian life to the fullest? These days in which we live give us much to be concerned about. It seems that we need a daily reminder that we need not worry; God is in control. Today more than ever, let us hold fast to our faith. Therein lies our hope. Therein lies our salvation. Therein lies our peace. Therein lies our comfort. Therein lies our strength. Therein lies our resiliency. Therein lies our power. Therein lies our destiny.
God has promised in His Word that we can stand in his power and his might, relying not on our own.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand.
Stand, therefore--hold your ground-- having tightened the belt of truth around your loins, and having put on the breastplate of integrity AND of moral rectitude AND right standing with God. And having shod your feet in preparation (to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness and the readiness produced by the good news) of the Gospel of Peace.
Lift up over all the (covering) shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missles of the wicked (one). And take the helmet of salvation and the sword the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:12-17
Be encouraged today. You do not fight life's battle alone! Do all you can; then STAND in HIs Power and His Might; and watch what God does.
